Philosophy
Thee Alpena Childcare and Development Center serves children between the ages of 2 weeks and 12 years. We are committed to the whole child as well as the family unit. Through our discovery centers, classes, special events and projects, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, creative and fun atmosphere. As adults who look to the next generation and beyond, our challenge is to support the children’s self-esteem and self-discipline, to teach children to resolve conflicts peaceably and to encourage cooperation.
We realize and respect that each child is an individual with special interests, needs and backgrounds. Our programming is anti-bias, which includes children from all area schools and all areas of life.
At the Alpena Daycare and Development Center, each and every child is important and his/her needs and feelings always validated. We are proud and committed to serving our community and it’s most important resource ~ our children!
